Service Description

What is Dog Tracking? "Tracking" is a rewarding sport where your dog learns to follow a scent trail left behind by a person, leading them to a hidden article. Your dog follows a complex scent path made up of crushed vegetation, disturbed soil, and the natural particles humans shed as they move. It’s an incredible way to see the world through your dog's nose! How It Works Our tracking sessions are designed to set your team up for success. A typical session involves: A person walking a designated path and dropping items. Waiting a short time so the scent settles into the environment. Letting your dog follow the trail using a tracking harness and long line. Rewarding your dog heavily when they successfully find the target objects! The Benefits! Fun! An exciting new outdoor activity to look forward to. Mental Stimulation: Sniffing provides serious brain work (very tiring in a good way!). Builds Confidence: Highly recommended for shy dogs to gain a sense of achievement. Strengthens Bonds: Deepens communication and connection between dog and handler. Instinctual Fulfillment: Gives working breeds a constructive job that suits their instincts. Equipment Needed For Class Tracking harness: This must be different from your dog's regular everyday walking harness. Long line: 10–30 feet in length to give your dog the freedom to search safely.
