Pawsitive Training Tips
-
Keep
training fun!!!
-
Praise,
Praise, Praise!!!
-
When
your pup does something wrong, don't use no. Instead, use a word
that describes what you actually want your pup to do. For example:
Use the word "off" to keep your dog away from a plate of food,
instead of no.
-
When
you can't watch your pup, keep him/her in a long term confinement
area or teathered to you so that he/she can't make a housetraining
or chewing mistake.
-
If
you find something your pup is scared of, be encouraging, with
positive words and lots of treats!!!
-
Expose
your pup to as many new experiences as you can in the first four
months of his/her life--bridges, car rides, children, skateboards,
different surfaces, babies, wheelchairs....anything your pup may
encounter in adulthood.
